Adult-Only Mini Golf Venue Opening In Minnesota
Who doesn't love a good round of miniature golf? I know I thoroughly enjoy challenging my putting skills with a well-laid-out course. Add in a fun theme, and I'm totally in!
Almost all mini golf courses are, by design, family-friendly venues. Many of them have themes that cater to the young imagination and have food and drink offerings geared toward kids and families. There's certainly nothing wrong with that! I love embracing my inner child with a round of mini golf, followed by some ice cream or something of the sort.
Imagine, if you will, a place where a group of adults could gather for a round of mini golf that includes some adult beverages, more "grown up" food options, and a course that is tailored specifically for grown folks. That's the concept behind a brand-new miniature golf course that is opening this week in Minnesota.
What's the story behind 'Puttery'?
A national chain of adult-oriented miniature golf courses under the brand Puttery, which operates locations in places like Miami, New York City, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Kansas City, Washington DC, Dallas, and Houston, is expanding to the Twin Cities area.
In a press release about the venue, Puttery describes their mini golf destination as a place people can enjoy a "not-so-typical evening or weekend activity" that offers a "modern spin on putting, re-defining the game with unique twists at every hole."
The 21+-only venue opening in Minneapolis offers 20,265 square feet of space that include several bars and lounge areas (like the one seen above), a chef-inspired menu and craft cocktails, and (of course) mini golf!
What's on the menu?
Their menu includes a roster of incredible-looking appetizers like bruschetta, tuna tostadas, and beef sliders along with salads, pizzas, wings, and more. They have a lineup of wines, beers, and seltzers as well as signature craft cocktails like the "BBQ on a Saturday Night" (Bourbon, Honey, Smoked Peach, Lemon, Angostura Bitters) and "Margarita Standoff" (Blanco Tequila, Orange Curacao, Ancho Chili, Pineapple, Lime) and others.
What are the courses like?
It will include three different 9-hole courses with distinct themes. Here's a look at each of them:
Art Museum
This 9-hole course at Puttery features a variety of bold and vibrant art-themed decor, from ancient statues to colorful modern pop-art. The company says you don't need to be an art critic to enjoy this beautiful, intricately-curated course.
Conservatory
Described as "lush and challenging", you can get a taste of nature indoors on this 9-hole course at Puttery. Included in the scenery for this course are things like giant redwoods, prickly cacti, and cherry blossoms.
Library
No need to whisper in this library. Putt yourself through a library-themed 9-hole course where you can browse the shelves, spin the globe, and even discover a prehistoric surprise waiting for you.
