First Marshalls Store In Northern Minnesota Set To Open Soon

One of the country's largest name-brand discount retailers is expanding its footprint into Northern Minnesota.

While its sister companies, TJ Maxx and HomeGoods, have stores in Duluth and will soon be opening a Sierra store in Duluth as well, the nearest Marshalls locations in Minnesota are in the Twin Cities area.

Offering men's and women's clothing, footwear, beauty items, and home decor and accessories, the addition will offer a new option to a mall space on the Iron Range in an era where many malls across the country have been seeing tenants leaving.

Northern Minnesota's only Marshalls location will be opening in the Uptown Virginia mall complex at 1441 S12th Ave W in Virginia, MN. Also located in this mall space are retailers like Hobby Lobby, Harbor Freight, Aldi, and Tractor Supply Co.

Locals have been following the developments for some time now, wondering when the new retail outlet will be coming to the Iron Range. News about the retailer coming to Virginia popped up in early 2025, set to occupy a 26,000-square-foot space in the mall.

After a lengthy wait, Marshalls is finally almost ready to open to customers.

The Iron Range Marshalls is planning to open on Thursday, October 22, opening their doors at 8 am and staying open until 10 pm.

Normal hours posted for the Virginia Marshalls location are 9:30 am to 9:30 pm, seven days a week.

Shortly after the new Northern Minnesota Marshalls opens in Virginia, a major change will be coming to its home.
