Minnesota’s Biggest Mall Announces Huge Black Friday Plans Including A Celebrity Appearance
Ready or not, here it comes! The biggest shopping day of the year is coming fast, and Minnesota's biggest mall has some pretty huge plans for this year.
The Mall of America in Bloomington recently shared a whole slate of plans for Black Friday, including mystery card prizes, giveaways, lots of deals, and even a celebrity appearance!
Here's a look at what has been announced so far.
When will the Mall of America be open for Black Friday this year?
The Black Friday festivities get going at 7 am on Friday, November 28, with doorbuster deals and giveaways to give you reasons to get there early.

The mall will remain open until 9 pm for Black Friday, and the rest of the Black Friday weekend will have hours as follows:
- Black Friday, November 28: 7 am - 9 pm
- Saturday, November 29: 10 am - 9 pm
- Sunday, November 30: 11 am - 8 pm
- Cyber Monday, December 1: 10 am - 9 pm
What are some of the giveaways and special things planned?
Before the doors open, a pre-opening celebration at the North Entrance will kick off the day. This year, the pre-opening party will include music from DJ Hayes and Nur-D, live carolers, free hot chocolate, and handwarmers to stay warm as you wait for the doors to open.
Once the doors open, the Mall of America says the first 200 shoppers in line at the North Entrance will get a "Spot It!" game, a $25 MOA gift card, and one of those people will also win a grand prize of $5,000.
The MOA has teamed up with the Minnesota Lottery to give out thousands of mystery cards at the North Entrance. Each mystery card will reveal a prize that can be redeemed at participating stores around the mall, or some will award the cardholder with a doorbuster prize.
Speaking of those doorbuster prizes, guests who get a mystery card revealing they've won a doorbuster prize can head into the Doorbuster Zone, where one of the mall's Doorbuster Zone characters will literally burst through a door with your prize. Prize values are as much as $600.
It isn't just morning festivities, though. There will be a celebrity appearance & performance later in the day too!
Who is the celebrity appearing at the Mall of America for Black Friday 2025?
Actress and musician JoJo Siwa revealed on social media that she will be making an appearance at the Mall of America on Black Friday for a live performance that will include her new holiday song.
Siwa has a new song called “Message to the World (Little Drummer Girl)" that she will debut at the mall as part of her performance. She says it is the first time in 5 years she's put out holiday music, and she says she's excited to share it with the world at the MOA on Black Friday.
JoJo is also opening a pop-up shop at the Mall of America, and her performance is scheduled for noon on Black Friday in the rotunda.
