
What Northland Teams Are In The 2025 Minnesota High School Football State Tournament?
The conclusion of the fall sports season continues as the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) state football tournament gets underway this week.
All of the section tournaments have concluded, and as we turn the calendar to November, so do we turn to state tournament action.
A total of four Northland teams are represented in this year's Minnesota state high school football tournament. Opening round games are at various neutral sites across Minnesota, with later rounds hosted in the Twin Cities at US Bank Stadium.
Here is when and where each of these teams plays and everything else you need to know:
Minnesota 9-Man Football: Cromwell-Wright and Cook County
Two teams from the region are participating in this year's 9-player bracket.
Cromwell-Wright is the 3-seed in the North part of the bracket, taking on Fertile-Beltrami on Thursday, November 6, at 7 pm in Moorhead at Moorhead High School
Cook County is the 4-seed, taking on 1-seed Kittson County Central on Thursday, November 6, at 6 pm in Grand Rapids at Grand Rapids High School.
The winner of these two teams will play each other at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Thursday, November 13 at 1 pm in the semifinals.

The South bracket matchups include 1-seed Hills-Beaver Creek vs. Red Rock Central and Hillcrest Lutheran Academy vs. Mabel-Canton.
The winners of the North and South sides of the bracket will play in the 9-player Championship game at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Saturday, November 22, at 10 am.
Minnesota Class A Football: Barnum
Barnum represents Section 7A in this year's state high school tournament, entering as the 4-seed in the North bracket.
Barnum plays Breckenridge on Friday, November 7, at 7 pm in Morris at Morris Area School.
The winner of this game will advance to play the winner of the Mahnomen-Waubun vs. Upsala-Swanville matchup on the other side of the North bracket.
The winners of these two games will compete in the Class A semifinal at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Friday, November 15, at 9 am in the semifinals.
The South bracket matchups include 1-seed Minneota vs. Lester Prairie and Fillmore Central vs. Murray County Central.
The winners of the North and South sides of the bracket will play in the Class A Championship game at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Friday, November 21, at 10 am.
Minnesota Class AA Football: Moose Lake-Willow River
Moose Lake-Willow River represents 7AA in this year's tournament, entering as the 3-seed in the North bracket. They take on 2-seed Eden Valley-Watkins in St. Cloud at St. Cloud Apollo High School on Thursday, November 6, at 7 pm.
The winner of this game will play the winner of the matchup between 1-seed Holdingford and Barnesville in the semifinal on Friday, November 14 at 9 am at US Bank Stadium.
The winner of this game will take on the winner of the South bracket on Friday, November 21 at 4 pm at US Bank Stadium.
The South bracket matchups to start the tournament are 1-seed Jackson County Central vs. Caledonia and Goodhue vs. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown.
Minnesota Class AAAA Football: Grand Rapids
Grand Rapids is the final Northland representative in this year's tournament, representing Section 7AAAA after defeating Hermantown last Friday to head to State.
Grand Rapids is the 1-seed in the North bracket, taking on Benilde-St. Margaret's in Brainerd at Brainerd High School on Thursday, November 6, at 7 pm.
The winner of this game will take on the winner of the Fergus Falls vs. Orono game on the other half of the North bracket in the semifinal on Thursday, November 13, at 10:30 am at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
The winner of this semifinal will meet the winner of the South bracket in the Class AAAA Championship game at US Bank Stadium on Friday, November 21 at 1 pm.
The opening round matchups in the South bracket are 1-seed Marshall vs. Totino-Grace and Kasson-Mantorville vs. Hill-Murray School.
