Yup, it is safe to say that summer is here in Minnesota and Wisconsin! After the longest winter and spring ever, we are finally feeling like summer in the Northland. We have to soak in the sunshine while we can.

This week, I took a look at the Old Farmer's Almanac to see what they were predicting for the month ahead. While we have to take their forecasts with a grain of salt, they did say it would be a rainy and hot month.

We will have to wait until we get a little closer to Grandma's Marathon to see what race weekend holds, I am getting a little nervous because things are really heating up in the Northland.

It looks like a major heat wave is headed our way next week! Most of the midwest for the most part is going to be toasty.

Midwest Weather shared details about 'dangerous heat' next week. Most of the Northland will see a heat index between 80 and 90 degrees. While some places will be warmer than others, especially to the south of us, it will still be warmer than average.

The National Weather Service of Duluth also echoed this forecast, sharing that heat is definitely in the forecast to kick off the week. That will just be the beginning so make sure you stay hydrated and prepared, especially if you are training for Grandma's Marathon.

We will have to wait and see just how hot it gets. Thankfully, things are always cooler near the lake so we can always make a visit there if all else fails! Although, sometimes it is still pretty hot near the lake regardless, even if it is cooler at the time.

Temperatures in the 80s and 90s definitely screams 'summertime' but it can also be dangerous so just be careful! I do not do well in heat so I always have to remind myself to slow down.

But hey, at last summer is here, right?

Differences Between Park Point & Wisconsin Point

Tourists coming to the Twin Ports flock to Park Point Beach. It's the largest freshwater sandbar in the world! It can be a busy place during the summer. But if people are looking for a quieter, more natural beach, they don't have to go far to get to Wisconsin Point.
