There's a first time for everything, like today when I was stunned to find out there's a Madison more well-liked than the one in Wisconsin.

Take a look at just about any list of the best in the Midwest, and you'll usually see Madison, Wisconsin, somewhere near the top.

Wait… There’s Another Madison?

Matter of fact, as I was perusing USA Today's list of the Ten Best Small Towns in the Midwest, I immediately thought this place was located in the Dairy State.

This time, however, another Madison, Madison, Indiana, took the top spot, thanks to reader votes.

The truth is, I hadn't even heard of Madison, Indiana, until just now, but from the sound of it, this one's definitely earned the spotlight.

Why Madison, Indiana Took the Crown

USA Today says Madison, the Indiana one, earned the win thanks to its rich history, riverfront charm, outdoor adventure fun at Clifty Falls, and the walkable downtown packed with attractions like Rockin' Thunder River Tours.
