Couple Hosts Special Wedding Reception at Minnesota State Fair

Over the weekend a couple hosted a very special get-together at the Great Minnesota Get-Together. It's something that I wish I did for myself a few years back.

This couple, with the help of the groom's sister, put together a wedding reception of sorts at the Minnesota State Fair!

Really quickly, before we get to this couple's story, if you're planning a trip to the fair yourself, make sure you take a peek at all of the new food and drinks that will be there. That way you can make a bit of a game plan, which can be good if it's super busy.

Bride and Groom Host Wedding Reception at Minnesota State Fair

Josh and Emi were pitched the idea of doing a 'wedding reception' at the Minnesota State Fair by Josh's sister. That's because Josh and his family have been coming to the fair since he was little and now Emi has become a fan too.

So the three of them put together a gathering at the fair, complete with a giant flag in order to track people down.

The whole group was easily spotted with their wedding and fair-themed shirts and with Emi decked out with a veil and a 'Bride' fanny pack.

They greeted their guests, had lots of milk, ate plenty of food, and hit the Giant Slide. In total, KARE 11 says that 160 people showed up to wish Josh and Emi well. How sweet is that!

No, this wasn't their 'main' wedding. They'll be doing their official wedding ceremony and celebration up north in a very intimate wedding of only 11 people.
