The Land of 10,000 Lakes is known for many things - the Minnesota State Fair, the Mall of America, SPAM Museum, Mayo Clinic, and of course the spoon with the cherry on it.  And now, thanks to a new survey that was done by Stacker, we now have a signature sandwich too.

Most Unique Sandwich Picked as Minnesota's Signature Taste

When I saw this survey of signature sandwiches from every state, I thought for sure I knew the answer for Minnesota.  I've stood in line at restaurants for this sandwich.  I've traveled over an hour to eat it, and people know our state for this one food item.  And no, I'm not talking about SPAMThat canned meat dish is made here but it is not what most of us eat.

Idaho.  No disrespect but, really?  That is basically a PB&J.

Illinois's pick does not surprise me.  My mother-in-law made Italian beef for us quite a bit when we would visit in Rockford, Illinois.  I never had it before I married into that family though.

Would You Pick The Walleye Sandwich As Your Favorite For Minnesota?

I'm from Iowa and am pretty sure I was spoiled growing up because my favorite food is a juicy burger made from a cow raised in the Midwest.  I would have picked the Jucy Lucy instead of the walleye, but maybe because it is a burger and not a sandwich, it was disqualified.
