Rochester Man Found Safe After Statewide Missing Person Alert
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man who was the subject of a statewide missing person alert has been found safe.
The Minnesota BCA issued the statewide alert on behalf of the Rochester Police Department asking for the public’s help with finding the missing man shortly before 4 a.m. Monday. Officials said he suffers from Alzheimer's.
The alert came about 5 ½ hours after 66-year-old Michael Kothenbeutel left his residence in the 4000 block of Portage St. NW and did not return home.
A description of his clothing was disseminated in the alert. His direction of travel was unknown.
Shortly before 5 a.m. Kothenbeutel was located safe and the Rochester Police Department canceled the alert. Details regarding how he and where he was found have not been released.
