Undated (KROC-AM News)- At least three lives were lost in under 24 hours in crashes on Minnesota roads.

The deadly series of crashes comes less than a week after seven fatalities were reported over a four-day span.

Three of the seven lives lost during that stretch were pedestrians. 

One of the three fatalities reported so far this weekend happened late Friday night and the other two occurred on Saturday. 

West Virginia Man Killed in Crash With Semi on I-90 in Southwestern Minnesota

The first of the three deadly crashes occurred on Interstate 90 in southwestern Minnesota where a pick-up and semi collided as they were both heading west shortly before 11 p.m. Friday.

The State Patrol says the pick-up driver, described as a 46-year-old West Virginia man, lost his life in the crash. His name has not been released and the state crash report says he was not buckled up. 

The truck driver, identified as 30-year-old Brody William Alderson of Lake Benton, MN, escaped the fatal crash just west of Worthington, without injuries. 

Minneapolis Passenger Killed in Car Crash at Brooklyn Center, MN Intersection

State Troopers responded to the second fatality shortly before 7:30 Saturday morning in the Twin Cities. A car traveling north on Hwy. 252 in Brooklyn Center crashed at the highway’s intersection with Humboldt Ave. 

The state crash report says a passenger in the car, identified as 36-year-old Carlos Chavez Holliday of Minneapolis, died at the scene. 

33-year-old Johnny Lee Houston was identified as the driver. The Minneapolis man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.  

Motorcyclist Killed in Northern Minnesota Crash, Speed and Alcohol Suspected to Be Factors

On Saturday afternoon the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal motorcycle crash about five miles east of Hibbing.

A witness reported seeing a motorcycle traveling north on Hwy. 5 failing to navigate a curve, crossing the center line and entering a steep and flooded ditch.

The 46-year-old Chisolm man operating the motorcycle was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts from witnesses. 

Authorities say he was not wearing a helmet and speed and alcohol appeared to be factors in the deadly crash. The motorcyclist’s name has not been released.
