Minnesota Woman Killed Via Shark While on Vacation
You know what - we go to tropical places during the cold months in order to get a little break from the snow and cold of Winter in Minnesota. You expect to enjoy the sun, sand, drinks with umbrellas and occasionally maybe some swimming with the dolphins or some deep sea fishing. You might also want to enjoy the ocean. I'm a person who likes to look at the ocean, maybe even hang on the beach, but I'm much more of a pool person with great views as opposed to going into the unknown waters of the ocean.
LOCAL STATION REPORTED ON THE TRAGEDY
We don't have all of the details, but KSTP is announcing that a woman from Minnesota, 56 year old Arlene Lillis was attacked by a shark in the Virgin Islands. Apparently her arm was bitten off, and she later died from those injuries. This is absolutely awful. Anytime you hear about something like this is a tragedy, but it also might make you also rethink some of those ocean beach vacations. Unless you're like me and stay away from the water - for the most part.
WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENING TO TOURISTS
The odds of something like this happening are pretty low. So when you hear about a tragedy like this happening, it really does make you think twice - or more than that.
DO WE KNOW THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THIS SHARK ATTACK
This attack just happened yesterday, January 8th. This is partially why we don't have the full story as to what exactly happened. Like how did this happen. We know the result, obviously, but was she diving? Snorkeling? Just swimming by the beach? What were the circumstances? All questions that will probably be answered soon - hopefully.
