What Does The Farmer’s Almanac Have To Say About October’s Weather?

Next week we will turn the calendar to October, with that comes pumpkins, leaves turning colors, and the occasional snowstorm. So what does the Farmer's Almanac say about October's weather? Let's check it out!

According to the Farmer's Almanac, October will be cool to start, but we could see a BIG warm-up towards the end of the month.

  Cold rains Northern Rockies, rapidly moving east across Northern Plains.
• 4^th - 7^th
  
  Dry, cool Rockies. Many showers, thunderstorms move east from the Great Plains.
• 8^th - 11^th
  
  Cold, clear Rockies.
• 12^th - 15^th
  
  Mild, with widely scattered showers dampening the weekend.
• 16^th - 19^th
  
  Rain or even wet snow from the Rockies south into CO.
• 20^th - 23^rd
  
  A rapid warm-up, then stormy east into the Great Plains.

Now take this forecast with a grain of salt, as the weather isn't as easily predictable as we like to think, and the Almanac covers a large swath of land from Montana to Missouri.

But the Almanac is a good jumping-off point for those interested in the weather.

Online search results show that the Almanac is right with its weather predictions about 50% of the time, which is less than what they claim, 80-85% correct.
