Best viewing locations for the Duluth Air Spectacular

This free event will happen over Lake Superior, giving many fantastic viewing perspectives along parts of the lakeshore and hillside.

Organizers recommend areas between Superior Street and the Lake Superior shoreline as the closest vantage points, highlighting places like the Lakewalk from 21st Avenue East all the way down to Canal Park and along the Canal Park shoreline and along both piers near the Lift Bridge.

In addition, other spots in Canal Park, Downtown Duluth, and along the Central & East Hillside will offer good views.

One interesting spot to watch from that will give a completely different perspective is from Skyline Parkway, where you'll be able to view the show at a higher elevation, albeit a little further from the action.

If you were considering watching from the water, there will be a sizable area closed off under where the show will occur.

Here's a map from organizers with some recommended locations, as well as the area prohibited from viewing by boat.

Another unique viewing point (while it won't be free) will be aboard a special train the Noth Shore Scenic Railroad is offering. The train, which will be a paid ticketed event, will offer viewing from the train tracks in front of Fitgers from inside the NSSR's air conditioned dome cars. You can also get out and watch from outside if you'd prefer. Following the show, you'll get to enjoy a short train ride. Tickets are available here.
