These Are Now The Vehicles Birds Poop On The Most In Wisconsin
It seems that every month, new studies are released to find things like the best places to get different kinds of food in every state, the most expensive places to live, the most dangerous places, where the most bedbugs are, and many more.
I always find it interesting to look at these to see if I'm familiar with the cities or businesses that are included on these, and sometimes I'll even make it a point to visit these places.
Then some studies come completely out of left field, and make you smile, and in this case, see if you're being targeted by nature.
Recently, I found a study that focused on the pooping habits of birds. Specifically, which vehicles they like to poop on the most. The study not only found the vehicle that is most targeted, but also which color of vehicle birds enjoy finding when Mother Nature calls. If you drive any of the vehicles listed below in Wisconsin, you may want to invest in an unlimited car wash pass.
The Study
If you're wondering who did this Bird Dropping Report, that would be Alan's Factory Outlet, who surveyed 1,000 American drivers to explore the very relatable problem: bird droppings on cars.
They then combined survey responses with research on bird behavior and parking habits, and uncovered which vehicles are hit the hardest, which colors attract the most mess, and how much money drivers spend cleaning up.
Vehicle Colors That Birds Target The Most
When it comes to the color that birds seemingly love the most, the winner is brown. I know, I know, the jokes write themselves. Here were the top 7 colors that birds target:
- Brown
- Red
- Black
- Yellow/Orange
- Blue
- White
- Silver/Grey
Makes Of Vehicles That Birds Target The Most
So, now we know that brown vehicles are a favorite for bird poop, but which type of vehicle do they love the most? Well, if you drive a brown Dodge Ram, you'd better have a car wash pass.
Here are the top 10 types of vehicles birds enjoy dropping their business on:
- Dodge Ram
- Jeep
- Chevrolet
- Nissan
- Other Dodge models
- Kia
- Tesla
- Audi
- Ford
- Subaru
Interestingly, Dodge was the only make of vehicle that showed up twice in the top 10. Other key findings from this study include:
- Over 1 in 2 Americans (58%) say their car has been pooped on more than once in the same day.
- 29% of Americans feel like birds have “targeted” their vehicle.
- Nearly 1 in 4 Americans (24%) spend over $500 each year on car washes and repairs due to bird droppings.
- 1 in 5 Americans (21%) would invest in a car cover or garage to avoid bird mess, and they’d pay an average of $50/month for better protection.
