Outback Steakhouse Closing Locations Nationwide, Including Wisconsin
Say it ain't so! One of my favorite chain restaurants is closing locations nationwide. This has been a very common practice over the last few years.
Many restaurants have closed underperforming locations in an effort to remodel their business plan amid our changing dining habits. Many are going out to eat less because it costs way more than it used to and customer service isn't the best in some places.
Red Lobster is a good example of this, closing underperforming stores nationwide. Thankfully, our Duluth location is safe. Red Robin also closed several locations across the country earlier this year.
Now another chain is following suit, closing around ten stores across the country and possibly more in the future. This impacts Wisconsin in a big way.
Outback Steakhouse Announces Closure Of Several Stores
The chain restaurant is a favorite of mine. I don't think their baked potato soup and french fries can be beat! According to USA Today, a handful of locations have closed as the business makes some changes to their business model. They are currently undergoing a 'turnaround' plan to up profits.

They looked at a bunch of different factors to determine which stores would close. The good news is that employees will be offered jobs at other nearby restaurants, whether a different location or another restaurant under the parent company.
Outback Steakhouse Location In Wisconsin Closed
Sadly, these cuts have impacted one store in Wisconsin: the location at 4520 East Towne Boulevard in Madison. While it's not great that a Wisconsin location made the cut, at least it is only one.

As of now, there are no Minnesota locations on the list. Other states impacted by these cuts include Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Maryland. I know the people of Madison will miss the Bloomin' Onion!
