It's been a very wintery week! We can all exhale now since we have made it through our first winter storm of the season.
I always hold my breath in October and November, just anticipating the first winter storm of the season or even the first big snowfall. Now, we've had it in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
We even saw up to a foot of snow in some parts of the region - and that was only the first of the season! Now, we have to gear up for many more.
When can we expect them and just how bad will they be? Will we see a mild start to the new year? For this answer, I turned to the Old Farmer's Almanac.

Brace yourself! No, this isn't a surprise but it's always jarring to see it in writing. We will see snowy periods throughout January, which is to be expected. However, there is one major snowstorm in the forecast.

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, we will see a major snowstorm from January 29th through the 31st. Yikes. At least it's better than a snowstorm on the new year or to start the year, right? They don't have any snowstorms predicted this month so this would be the next one, if you believe their outlooks.
Snowstorms are definitely normal and should come to no surprise. It's all in good fun - even though it probably won't be at the time. Ha!
