Yup, there's another scam that's been reported in Wisconsin. This one stands out because it is unlike any other going around at the moment.

There have been a ton of scams reported lately in both Wisconsin and Minnesota and it has been hard to keep up with them all!

For the most part, all of them have one thing in common: they seem real because of the way scammers are able to spoof and make things seem legitimate these days.

This latest scam was reported to police in Port Washington and now that it has popped up across state lines, it could definitely happen here.

Here's What Happened

Then, the scammer told the resident that she owed money for the fix and asked for her banking information in order to get the payment. This is where things get weird.

The scammer then told the resident, after getting the banking information, that they'd accidentally deposited 10K into her account and needed it back.

They told the resident to withdraw most of it in cash, keep a thousand for herself and deposit the rest into a Bitcoin ATM in order to return the funds. What?!!

The resident fell for this scam and went to her local grocery store to follow through with the Bitcoin transaction. A store manager caught on to what was happening and thankfully, stopped the scam before it got any worse.
