This is way more than just a tribute show.

The DECC announced a "full-contact immersive tribute drama" exploring one of the most iconic musical moments of Johnny Cash's career will be coming to Duluth this winter.

Called "Folsom Prison Experience", the concept behind this unique music and theatrical event transports the audience back to 1968 for more than just a tribute concert to this iconic event in music history.

Fans of Johnny Cash know about the live recording of his 3-times platinum selling live album "At Folsom Prison". This event brings the audience back to that moment on January 13, 1968, featuring not only music from that show, but a theatrical re-telling of the moment in Cash's life and career.

The audience is even encouraged to show up in "prison attire", playing the part of the inmate audience that was at that actual show back in 1968.

The cast of this musical dramatic performance includes singer/songwriter Jay Ernest in the role of Johnny Cash and former The Voice contestant Kat Perkins as June Carter.

Called "an experience like none other", this is a unique way for Johnny Cash fans and music lovers alike to get a cool perspective on this pivotal moment in The Man In Black's life and career.

The show will be at the DECC Symphony Hall in Duluth on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Doors for the show will open at 7 pm, with the show getting underway at 8 pm. While this experience will reimagine a prison concert, it is an all-ages show.

Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, August 23 at 10 am, ranging from $33 to $43. A presale will happen from 10 am to 10 pm on Thursday, August 22. You can learn more about this show or get tickets here.
