St. Augusta, MN (MinnesotaNow)-- A 13-year-old boy was killed in a tragic accident at a popular Halloween attraction in central Minnesota Saturday night.

According to a news release from the Stearns County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened at the Harvest of Horror Haunted Hayride in St. Augusta, about 20 minutes south of St. Cloud.

The initial emergency call came in at 7:37 PM and the caller indicated that a young male had been injured after being run over by a trolley wagon pulled by a tractor, the release says.

Staff and bystanders, including an off-duty police officer and an off-duty medic, immediately began administering aid. Several Explorers and a Stearns County Deputy who were present at the event also responded to the scene.

The St. Augusta Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance Service were also called to assist.

Despite lifesaving efforts by all involved, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been identified as Alexander Mick of Rice, MN

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. No additional details have been released at this time.
