David was born in Duluth and raised on Steve Martin comedy and Jell-O Pudding Pops, the latter was responsible for his Jabba The Hut Phase in 6th grade. His dad, longtime Northland personality David John, influenced his love for radio and performing by introducing him at a young age to a wide variety of music and to the Duluth Playhouse. A proud Duluth Central and UMD grad, David's first radio job was in 1991 at KZIO in Duluth and he's loved broadcasting in the Northland ever since, despite his disdain for mosquitoes. David loves entertaining on the air and by writing articles online that reflect living in the Northland, like when a historic property hits the market, or when he witnesses an uncomfortable situation while shopping at Target. David also isn't afraid to tackle life's biggest questions, like is it illegal to drive a golf cart drunk, or where are the best places to skinny dip in the Northland? Be sure to join David on air, online, or on the app Monday through Saturday from 2 pm to 7 pm.
